Please wish me luck tomorrow - I am having a cystoscopy - to investigate persistent non-visible haematuria. Supposed to be 'just' a 5 minute procedure, but I have to have antibiotic cover and we all know nothing is straightforward when you have lupus!!!
Also just had to leave the cat at the vet with a temperature and an abscess on his paw plus my ribs and hands are really hurting!!
I've been on Plaquenil for a year and it doesn't seem to have made any difference - sometimes it's hard to put the happy face on!

Hi, I had this procedure only yesterday. It is really nothing to worry about - honest! It is a tad uncomfortable at the beginning but then its ok, just try to relax. I was fascinated watching what the camera could see on the screen and before I knew it, it was over. They said to me to make sure I drink plenty of fluids, which I have been trying to do and all seems fine at the mo. I have not been given any antibiotics, just have to drink lots but if infection symptoms develop I have to see my GP.
I know what you mean about having a happy face - mine is permanently on show until I get home on my own.
Good luck for tomorrow, and hope your cat is ok too.
Thank you to everyone for your replies - I found it uncomfortable but the nurse kept talking to me to distract me. Good news is they found nothing serious except some inflammation which can be treated with antibiotics.
P.S. The cat is doing well and yes I'll see the rheumatologist in a couple of weeks to discuss Plaquenil
