Make up recommendations for Lupus - Good coverage

Can anyone please help. I havnt seen my friends since last year ,some longer and I have my 40th in a few weeks and I'm dreading it. Absolutely dreading my old school friends seeing how my face is . How tired I look and how tired I get.

Could anyone please recommend brands of make up that aren't oil based that cover holes , scars and burn like marks on my face please. Needs to be good coverage that doesn't slide off my face 😞

I really don't know what I was thinking agreeing to actually going out let alone celebrating my birthday

bless your heart ... had to reply as I know exactly what you mean... I catch sight of myself and think blimey who's that!!

IT cosmetics is absolutely fabulous. I use the CC Cream .

The do quite a few different colours and it's not cheap so I would recommend googling trial size as some companies do trial sizes. I think i got mine from lookfantastic. It covers everything.. scars, dark circles, thread veins etc and doesn't dry skin out .

Shades wise I wear light but its not that light. My liver is rubbish so i'm often yellow and light is dark enough to cover it if that makes sense! is bit rubbish so i'm often yellow.. If you are paler they do a "light Fair" in trial size. You could always mix "light and light fair".

Please remember we are terribly hard on ourselves. You will look lovely and I bet you get loads more foundation tips. My skin is super sensitive so I just thought i'd post case yours is

Take care of yourself x

Ps, there are cheaper ones out there but I found the colours were just too yellow for me

Thank you for taking the time to message me , your tips are really very useful.I have olive skin usually though today I was in hospital as around my eyes turned yellow and it looks as though I have a kidney infection. Great! On top of a a mega flare on a new patch of my face ,more scars coming 😩

I will most definatley look into this make up ,thank you so much and wishing you the best health possible ❤️

I would suggest you use a Primer first, something like Hourglass Veil mineral primer as its neither water or oil and will work with any foundation. The primer is designed to eliminate redness, minimise pores, soften fine lines, and create a smooth and even base for make up.

I tend to think that make up brands have created items that work together so it would make sense to look at their foundations too. There Ambient soft glow foundation is very popular.

That brand is available at John Lewis and I would ask there for some help and try some out.

You could also use a foundation and a concealer.

Another good foundation for people with problem skin is Dermablend Flawless creator

amazon.co.uk/stores/Dermabl...

This is also known as Vichy Dermablend Face Foundation - if you can find it!

I would also recommend you apply with a brush not fingers so if you don't have one invest in one!

Finally go to your party and enjoy yourself! It will be worth it.

Thank you so much will definatley take a look and trial some out at John Lewis , my face just seems to feel so oily with it ,though the stuff they've told me to use is like medicated vasaline so it makes me feel so gross and I refuse to even answer the door with it on.

Thank you ! I hope I'm up for it ,I really do , wishing you good health ❤️

Another recommendation for IT Cosmetics CC Cream. Watch some videos on line of people using it for coverage but equally it has ingredients that’s good for your skin too. They do 3 versions of it I think for skin types such a gooey, normal and matt. I use the normal/original one and I wouldn’t be without it.

You can buy it online but they also stock it in selfridges if you want to be colour matched and discuss it with someone who works for them.

That's ever so helpful ,thank you so much ! I like the fact they have different skin types id say mine was gooey , it used to be normal 🙄

I think I'll look to pop to a selfridges and John Lewis when I next visit the shopping centre in Milton Keynes ,they are sure to have it ! X

Just to say I love IT cosmetics confidence in a cream which is their moisturiser. Also to get all that make up off you can’t beat Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm, and it smells Devine! You can get a smaller size in M&S which also comes with the cloth so good for trying out and half the price too. Won’t break you out and leaves your skin feeling lovely. Quick tip if you don’t want to use the cloth, I use water wipes to remove the make up and balm and then finish with the cloth.

More amazing advice ,I will be a busy lady when I go shopping , it's certainly helping hearing all these recommendations of people who have tried and most importantly understand 😊

my advice - is go and get different cosmetic counters to do trials on you. makeup is so personal i think - like anything, what works for one person doesn't work for another.

another suggestion - if you find a make up counter that you like - get it done there the day of the party. get your make up done by a professional. no-one does it like they do and you will feel a million dollars.

and remember - your friends are friends with your because of who you are and not what you look like - they wont' even notice - but i get it - it's nice to feel good about yourself too xx

That's very good advice ! I love that idea 😊

I have mentioned it to my friends and they have said they've said exactky the same and one even suggestion if needs be they will wear masquerade masks - abit far fetched but I appreciated the support 🤣x
