Hello everyone, just a quick message as I cannot see very well with two infected eyes but I am through the operation and my Consultant got all she could of the mass.
Afterwards sadly I haemorrhaged so had to be plugged and put on a drip for a few days. I am so grateful to the Consultant for going outside her comfort zone and doing a complex bi lateral polpectomy under a local anaesthetic, the Anaesthetist for her constant encouragement and advice when I was chocking on blood, the recovery team and the wonderful junior doctors who really are undervalued and underpaid and the nurses who went above and beyond despite being short staffed.
I am relieved to be home and starting the recovery and waiting for the pathology results.
I sincerely appreciate all your kindness in messaging me ❤️ xxx

So glad you're safely through it Cecily. Sending you all the very best for your recovery. Take care and rest up well. Keeping everything crossed for your results x
Look at you, going through such a horrendous experience and coming out the other side! Wonderful to hear you are in one piece and recovering at home. Let us know how you go with the results x
Dear Ceciky, I am so happy to read you made it. So proud and happy. It must have been very difficult to get to this point You made it. I hopevthe rest of the waiting results is less troublesome.!
Thats grand you've come through Cecily. Now you’re home, take it easy recovering and hopefully it wont be too long for good results. Im sure Finlay & Skye will keep you occupied with their antics. love and best wishes for better days to come. xx
Oh they missed me nearly as much as I missed them Chris. Poor boys have had hours alone as well as different people checking in on them so they were quite stressed. It is strange you know that goofy Finlay who literally eats the face off ne normally jumped into my lap, had a good sniff and very delicately licked me on the nose bless him. It brought a tear to my eye. It was as if he knows he needs to be gentle. I am keeping the dynamo that is Skye at arms length. He has a tendency to paw peoples faces so he gets fussed when he is sat nicely or being held by my husband.
I have bought them dog puzzles and it is amazing that Skye actually finds the treats quicker than Finlay. I also got them a toy where they have to get squeaky squirrels out of a tree stump. I will never tire of watching them. They are the best medicine for sure ❤️🐾🐾
Good to have you back Cecily 🤗 Well done for getting through your ordeal..we've all been thinking of you. Rest up now and best wishes for a speedy recovery 💜🌈🦋xx
I have been warned if I bend, lift or do too much in the next 2-3 weeks my scar tissue will burst and I could haemorrhage again so I am keeping my head high lol xxx
Oh Love you that all sounds like so much to deal with ! Glad you are resting though and fingers crossed now nothing more will happen just a good recovery 🤞🏻 here if you ever want a chat or rant 😊💕 xxx
Thank you so much. I am getting there, less pressure behind my eyes and the toothache is better today. I managed to chew toast this afternoon which was lovely despite not being able to taste it xxx
you have been through a tough and frightening ordeal. Wishing you a speedy recovery and sending you lots of hugs and love. Please keep us posted on your recovery.
Wishing you all the best for a gentle recovery. It sounds like in the end, despite complications you were well looked after and your wishes listened to. On here, we don't always feel our opinions are valued , so its good to hear that in this case yours were. Its a shame you had to fight so hard for that to happen, but well done - you are truly a super-hero and a very strong woman. Rest up and recover. x
Thank you for your kind words. I didn’t feel particularly brave but I was so grateful that despite my Consultants reservations and her being outside her comfort zone she went ahead with local anaesthetic.
It would have been hilarious if not so painful because junior doctors, recovery staff etc all came to watch. We had conversations about dogs, food, Greys Anatomy and Casualty. I was able to see the bits of mass come out on the end of an instrument of torture called a claw scissors that literally ripped it off the bone. No one complained when I coughed blood over them and they all made a point of patting my arm and saying well done you as I left.
It was all going so well until it didn’t. I did say that if they tried to use the balloon stents again I would discharge myself as I honestly had never experienced such pain in my life and like all of us I live with pain. I just truly hope the damned thing does not regrow 🙏🏻 xxx
I am sorry that you went through such an ordeal. Having such a wonderful medical team must have been a great comfort to you. So glad that you are now home. Take it easy and rest up. Xx 🌈💐
Hi Stills so kind of you to think of me. I am getting there now I think. Still have a lot of swelling, gunk etc but I can actually smell a little and taste certain things so I am thrilled with that. It is taking longer than I expected. The packing that I swallowed apparently had some loose bits that attached to my nostrils. I could feel a soft spongy lump in my good nostril and panicked. I could not breathe and worried something was wrong. I was so fortunate that the GP I saw used to be an ENT Doctor and worked with my consultant. She rang her and explained that I was so swollen and there was obstruction of my nostril. Apparently they fully expected the swelling and said unless it was a dire emergency they would do nothing in case of a further bleed given that the bones were shaved during the op. Her guess was that this packing would dissolve this week and to increase the douching and give me steroids. It has just worked so clearly she was right.
They have left a whole month from the op to see me to ensure that I am healed before they insert a probe. The only drawback is I have to wait another two weeks fir the lab results .
