I was that work today and it was very hot outside. I got a little overheated, but then went in to eat lunch. By the time I got up to go back to work my back was itching so bad I couldn't stand it, and when I looked I had a big rash over about half my back and it itched so bad, kind of look like hives almost. So after that I cool down and it seem to get better but every time I would walk out back outside and the sun would hit it or I would get hot it would get right back to itching real bad and get real red again. Now I sit at home and I already took a shower and it doesn't look too bad but you can still see it. So does anybody know what this is?!

What is this rash on my back?!
ooh I wonder if something has bitten you ? Have you tried taking an antihistamine ? Hope it’s less itchy today as nothing worse than constant itching especially somewhere that’s difficult to scratch !
You could try e45 on it a couple of times a day, antihistamine tablets can be good for the itch. If it doesn't go within a few days pop in and see a chemist, they can look at it and maybe give you a mild steroid cream. You can go to your gp but it's not as quick as the chemist. Cover up in the sun! If longer term the sun continues to do this and its not a bite or allergy of some kind then I'd see a gp, I don't know if you have lupus or wondering if you do but hot itchy rashes are part of it along with a load of other symptoms.
I used to get an intense itchy hive like rash from being in the sun or getting too hot. I now use lots of sun cream and stay in the shade as much as possible. Hasn’t been so bad now I’m taking hydroxychloroquine and occasional antihistamine.
Best to get yours checked if you can, because yours might not be the same rash as mine.
Hi Clemsonboi,
Welcome to the LUPUS UK Community Forum, It's great to see you have already had some advice from some of the other members. As Chris21 has mentioned, it is a good idea to get new symptoms checked out. Have you had a diagnosis of lupus or associated condition and currently under the care of a Rheumatologist? If so, I would suggest contacting them about this. If not, it would be a good idea to contact your doctor, who may wish to refer you for investigation.
We have some useful publications about symptoms and how to manage them on our website, I have posted some links below that you may like to look at.

Hi it could be sun related. Don’t scratch it, will only get worse. Speak to the pharmacist who will probably give you antihistamine. In the meantime make an appointment with GP, so they can have a look and maybe refer some blood tests
Remember to take photos so you can show GP
Use suncream as that area is sensitive
