I saw a very sympathetic GP. this morning who has given me a prescription for a years worth of Zentiva. I took it to an independent chemist and he is going to order it, so nearly there! (hopefully!) I guess I shouldn't count my chickens!
If you can persuade your GP or Rheumy doctor to order a batch, you might have better luck. I think if not we should contact our MP's as this situation is just wrong.

Well done you. No update on my situation yet as I have not been back to the pharmacy due to a fall. I will ask my GP for a years prescriptions that would certainly get rid of that stress. Hope you get the right brand x
What a helpful GP - really pleased for you. I just tried ringing Zentiva before seeing your post to see if I could get further information. However, there was no reply to the extention. I will follow up with an email. I had a note enclosed with my repeat from my pharmacy saying it is our of stock from all their suppliers. What really is the issue? We shouldn't have to struggle like this. Take care x
Hi loopy-lou. I spoke to a nice chap from Zentiva and there is no shortage, it is the wholesalers who won't order from Zentiva. They are motivated by profit and buy the cheapest drugs available. Lloyds pharmacy was where i use to get my prescriptions but they've just be taken over by Allied, an American company. I've been very lucky with the GP kindly prescribing a batch. Maybe you could try that. The pharmacist I now go to is independent....I still haven't actually got the Zentiva yet! There's a group of chemists called Wells who do order Zentiva but I'm not sure where they are.
I would email your MP if you can't get them, it's disgraceful that we are fobbed off with cheap drugs with such horrible side effects when the alternative meds are just slightly more expensive. Best wishes and good luck xx
Hi kt11, Thank you so much for the information. What a ridiculous situation!I hope you have managed to get your prescription. I heard that Wells pharmacy was another route to try but when I looked there wasn't one near me. I am seeing a consultant in a few weeks and will ask for a prescription if possible like yours. Meanwhile, I will try ringing other local pharmacies to see if they can get Zentiva. I agree, the next step is that we should email our MP.
Good luck loopy-lou. I'm rooting for you. This situation is so wrong, we shouldn't take it lying down, the trouble is it's exhausting and we have to lie down a lot! Take care and all the best. xx
Yes, keep going, if you can't get them ask your GP if they will prescribe a batch and write to your MP. This is all wrong. Take care Potatoheat. Best wishes xxx
That's fabulous news 👏👏Well done kt!! You found your way through the tears and took action..hurray!! 👏👏Please let us know when you get those precious Zentiva tablets 💜🌈🦋xx
Tell them how the side effects of the cheaper ones affect you, try and get them to prescribe a batch, maybe contact pals or your local health authority. All the best xx
