Hi, just wondering what supplements people take when have SLE Lupus? Because of the affects on my liver and kidneys, I am taking the following: fish oil, Vitamin D, Womens multi vitamin, MSM, milk thistle.

Just curious in what everyone is using? I feel its helping a bit when comes to energy. Taking plaquenil and azathioprine, suffer from brain fog, low motivation and chronic fatigue.

Thanks in advance everyone, any advice would be appreciated.

xx

Hi, I take Vit D to make up for lack of sun on my skin, Vit B complex for when the corners of my mouth get sore and Omega 3 fish oil for heart and joints. I’ve been recommended turmeric for inflammation and I do drink turmeric tea and use it a little in cooking but I haven’t yet taken it as a supplement. Plus Hydroxychloroquine which has helped with the fatigue a little although I’m not sure if this improvement is wearing off and I also suffer from worsening brain fog and lack of motivation, at least we now know that we’re not alone Jazzy, take care and take it easy 😀

Hi! Ginseng sachets from holland barrett have helped me a lot with fatigue as well as vit c/berocca tablets that you put in water. I heard I ginseng tea is also really good. I also take vit D, iron and biotin supplements as I had lost a lot of hair. You are defo not alone and hope this helps xxx

This is surprising. I realise everybody reacts differently but Ginseng is immune boosting and any supplement that helps immune boosting is a no no for me. I take medications to suppress immune system for AI. As it works for you, that's great but it is a surprise as I get ill soon after. I have tried so hard with so many different alternative medicine or supplements to balance my immune system but nothing works.

hi, I just take what I am prescribed, you have to be very careful with some 'natural' products etc. My only extra is Vitamin D as prescibed by consultant x

If your iron level is low, try gentle iron (that won't cause constipation) as it does boost energy and help with deep sleep. But you should get your blood test for your iron level first.
