I was just wondering if anyone had had any problems with their driving licence?
I was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy 3 years ago and dutifully informed the DVLA. I had my licence renewed for 3 years and it came up for renewal. When I reapplied a few weeks ago it’s still not renewed. They now have asked me about the lupus and depression. I have had lupus since 1991 and it’s quiescent ..no symptoms for the past 5;years. Why are they now asking? Will they take my licence away? I’m so worried and getting really stressed 😩

I am sure they won’t. I had to fill in various forms and give doctor information. In fact we’re more bothered by my back surgeries. I think the WFH means driving licences taking ages to process.
I too have a renewable medical licence from the DVLA. The maximum possible is ONLY for 3 years. ☝️
I suffer from type1 diabetes, SLE, DLE, vasculitis, myopia (ok with glasses), Subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (SCLE), cataracts, both maculopathy and retinopathy, epiretinal membrane, diabetic sensory neuropathy (both feet), autonomic neuropathy, primary hypothyroidism (Hashimoto’s disease).😜😱
I see no reason why you should not get another one for 3 years ?
Unfortunately every 3 years for us it’s going to be a protracted, highly intrusive, invasive 12-13 page form to complete for the DVLA! It’s the rules.
Notes🥶:
Huge covid 19 backlog to clear and the DVLA MEDICAL team are actually pretty ignorant about lupus so their further enquiries take forever.
My replacement came through after a wait of 14 months! Made dozens of email reminders to DVLA but only got automated responses. Phone lines were hopeless. No answers!😡
