Hello 👋

I have a lupus flare up my arms and legs have inflamed connective tissue it’s so tight and uncomfortable it’s difficult to stand and walk it is now like doing a dance shuffle all joints are stiff and feel deep ache and red burning skin across cheeks get shortness of breath at times, toes cramping and big toes and shoulders feel like there trying to dislocate over and over. Pulse is fast 120. Does anyone else get a flare up due to weather and can anyone advise if there is anything to try to reduce duration of flare.

I tried to get up for work but collapsed on bed after eating slowest breakfast 🥱

take care and hope you’re all able to have a moment today with some enjoyment even if it’s just listening to favourite Song 👍🏻😃 or enjoying a cuppa tea 🫖!!!

Sorry you are feeling bad. Yes unusually I have had lots of neck and head pain when I wake up and red cheeks and spots . Also ibs has flared a bit . I put it down to lack of sun and fresh air . I try not to take painkillers as I just feel more sluggish . Mentally have no get-up and go . I need to get out and about more . Gardening is my go to but weather not good for that at moment. Also I don't drink enough .

Disturbed sleep is also making things worse. Hopefully warmer brighter days are on the horizon.

Hope you improve soon .

Yes absolutely, I am very sensitive to changes in barometric pressure. Extended cold damp weather can make me worse. I keep warm, away from draughts……wrap up in a duvet on the sofa.

Hi GeForce,

I also struggle when the weather gets bad. I manage pain with painkillers, hot water bottle and I have an electric heated pillow which I put on the area with most discomfort and it does ease it a little. But sometimes I just have to take it easy and have plenty of rest.

Hope you find something that work for you and you feel better soon.

Hi. Sorry you're feeling like this. Yes I van definitely relate. Everything hurts. I keep having hot baths to try and ease the hurt a bit. Roll on spring x

Was this your post or mine??? Apart from the fast pulse I totally get it, I mean big toes, joints, hips and shoulders really bad and constant deep ache/pain in arms and thighs. Even going to the loo is painful, by that I mean having to drop and raise clothing, trying to pull up my trousers, well the pain is like hauling way too heavy shopping bags!!! I try and keep warm, I try and keep moving, but the intense pain and exhaustion made worse by broken sleep leave little energy to think let alone act.

Keep hydrated, keep warm, a heated blanket may help give some temporary relief. I only take painkillers going to bed to try and get at least a couple of hours of unbroken sleep.

I wish I had answers, instead at 50 I feel like a practising geriatric! 30 years of practice and still can't master this bloody illness 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
