Chronic flare since cold weather-anyone else?

Hi friends.

Since Sunday the temperature has dropped to 3-5 degrees overnight and then about 8 degrees Celsius in the day.

I've been in a bad way since and wondered if it's connected to the weather OR hormones as since having chemotherapy I have not had a period since April.

Be good to hear from anyone out there with similar experience.

Take care friends. ๐ŸŒป

The cold weather makes my RA flare. Joints swell, stiffen and ache . Turn up the heating ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanks. I have Myositis, Lupus and RA along with Raynaurds. Was diagnosed Spring this year. Not sure which disease is causing the pain!๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜˜ Staying warm definitely helps. ๐ŸŒป

I can strongly recommend a heated blanket to deal with aches etc. I like the dreamland throws.

I didnt notice any correlation with weather. The only thing that is connected is that I get a migraine when athmosferic pressure suddenly changes

I donโ€™t have lupus but dealing with fibromyalgia and probably Sjรถgrenโ€™s syndrome, and seeing a rheumatologist to be diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis soon. I have noticed the pain in joints is worse and more constant with the weather change too unfortunately. I try to stay as warm as possible that helps, and stretching first thing in the morning too.

Yes it appears that the weather can affect our conditions. Stretching tips are a great idea - sadly I have to wait for the pain to subside first. Thank you for sharing. At least I feel I'm not alone. Keep warm and well.๐ŸŒป

I hope your pain levels become more manageable very soon. Maybe you could bring it up to your rheumatologist?Sometimes an increase in medication can help. Keep warm, cosy and stay safe ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŒป.

Hello KnitSewPurl. In all the replies it is quite clear the weather does affect our health. I feel very sorry for you. Pain in the head area is debilitating (as well as everywhere else!). Is it stopping you from knitting, sewing and purling? It is awful for anyone who cannot do the little things due to pain. I for one am very grateful my tea caddy has a flip lid rather than a screw lid. At least I can just about make a cup of tea!๐Ÿ˜˜โ˜• Not been able to do much else since Sunday apart from read my current book Caught by Harlan Coben. Still many people worse off than me. I hope your pain eases soon. Sending you a virtual hug. Best wishes.๐ŸŒป

it is much much better today but alittle heavy heady like feel I am sure some of you know what it means but better . At least I can go about doing things and get my booster jab the most important thing . Yes , I manage to sew yesterday but not the day before could not focus at all it was quite painful all over but still force myself to do some sewing late to the night to take that pain away to focus 2 days ago.,this I certainly I would not be able to do with my knitting . I have knitted my way thought pain but it has never been able to helped me focus that much as my sewing

in reply to KnitSewPurl

Itโ€™s brilliant to have a focus and aim when suffering, it really does help get through the bad days. ๐Ÿงถ

Oh yes, I am a walking barometer. The old wives tales of predicting weather based on which joint ached are very true.

Like others, I'm also affected by quick changes in temperature, especially with head and joint aches.
