Am looking for some advice please if anyone could help me. My nephew needs to get his mmr jag this week and if it’s a live vaccine it says on the leaflet that I can’t be near him for 6 weeks because am on methotrexate. It’s also difficult as I watch him to allow my bother and sister in law to work. Has anyone had any experience of this
Thank you so much in advance

Hi murp17.ive haven't had any experience with mmr jab but when my son was under 18 he always had to have the adult flu vaccine as the children's one is live and he couldn't have it because I'm immunosuppressed .Best wishes SML x
Dear Murp17. As a precaution we always avoid people that we know are sick or getting sick due to the fact that we take Methotrexate. Ask the pharmacy, as suggested below, but also let your Faith guide you. We cannot cut ourselves from the ones we love completely. Our struggles are already a lot. Since we don't control how our bodies will respond in general and we have no control over our illness why deny ourselves the love of a hug. Hope this helps. Keep the Faith
