I was just about to post this.

I think lupus uk should start throwing their support behind this asap, So we have trials starting here. Just imagine, an end to all our pain and suffering.

I wholeheartedly agree.

I saw it, obviously. I'm in a state of shock. I had assumed there would would never be a cure. But imagine no more pain and fatigue, no faulty blood vessels and clotting. Living a normal life.

I'd take a new mortgage to have this treatment, because the pay back would be so enormous. But it should also be available on the NHS - lupus treatment is so expensive...all the money that could be saved.

You could amend your post title to say 'a lupus cure?' Not sure if this will be picked up by members otherwise xx

Yes! This is mnd-boggling! It's a small study, though and the usual cautions shouls be applied.

The original paper has a record-breaking URL

It is such a small trial so cannot really be trusted yet! Trials need to be done on 100`s of people minimum. Hopefully in many years to come most probably not our lifetime though. But let`s hope so!

Yes this sounds so promising! Here’s another article about it: medpagetoday.com/rheumatolo...

Sounds encouraging! Praying for a cure, and praying we can afford it through insurance.

it's is being used in Germany at the moment not yet over here . I presume ot has to get approval to get it use and will need trials to be used over here as well

Well done for circulating and making us aware. My hospital is a lupus centre of excellence. I’ve forwarded it to my lupus nurse. They have a strong connection with lupus uk. All good news!!

This is absolutely brilliant news. And very reassuring to know there are so many active studies and trials going into Lupus and other autoimmune diseases.

As was mentioned above, we may not benefit from this in our lifetime, but others may well do. And as Lupus can be hereditary, goodness forbid, but if our children where to inherit this from us, at least they will benefit.

I have all fingers and toes... And anything else that is cross able, crossed that we are lucky enough to see it ourselves 🤞😄

Thanks for sharing this article. The last one I read was about a girl in Spain who was cured with a gene therapy. It was shared widely by Lupus UK. I sent it directly to my Rheumy and he wrote back saying adult lupus, especially the ones who have had it for many years have so many layers of reasons that it would be very very difficult and also that it would take many years for anything like this to be widely available in NHS. He was being realistic I think. So perhaps time to play a lottery! 😂

I am sure that it is a matter of time for the medical scientist to find a cure as so many are developing auto immune conditions especially since Covid.
