hi, I’ve been using nhs transport for my rheumatologist appointment to Manchester from Lancaster for a number of years , I need to go twice next week for a scan and rheumatologist appointment but when I tried to book it like normally do after the questionnaire they said I’m not eligible , they said to ring the dr and he/she could over rides the decision, I rang them but the receptionist said bc I’m not housebound They can’t override the decision . I don’t know what to do , I don’t drive , I live on my own , no family nearby and the appointment it’s very early in the morning .

thank you 🙏

Is there a voluntary organisation that can help? I’m guessing public transport is not viable?

I can understand why you wouldn’t want to use public transport. Could rheumatologist secretary help? It’s a pity they couldn’t have done the appointments for the same day.

I am a patient at Lancaster .They seem to be good at rheumatology. Can you change to go there?

With a receipt you used to be able to claim back taxi fares.might be worth checking or complaining to pals.im at Lancaster too. X
