I saw a few years ago Eleanor mallon at bmi Shirley oaks nr. Croydon. She was very thorough. Has hair loss as a speciality. It helps to look up private specialists who also work in the NHS too as they keep their skills up to date more. Check on consultation fees with the private hospital or the consultant's secretary as they can differ quite a bit. Any bloodwork get them to send you back to the gp for as they can cost hundreds privately. Any scans or tests can also be referred back to the gp by a letter or you can pay if you want them quicker. I find it saves a lot of money getting more in depth things done back with the NHS also scans etc done via private health care will not show on NHS records. If you have an emergency admission to hospital they won't have access to your private treatment and notes. Just a side point to think about. Hope that helps a bit.
I recently saw Dr Catherine Orteu who was knowledgeable enough to deal with these issues. I too have a scalp rash and have suffered hair loss and thinning,
