Thank you so much to happytulip for recommending that we share some positive posts each as a bit of a break from the endless coronavirus coverage in the media.
My positive news is that yesterday, following an INCREDIBLY generous sponsor, I've now surpassed my fundraising goal for the London Marathon in aid of LUPUS UK. Regardless of what happens, I'll be running 26.2 miles in my costume on the 26th April, even if it is just around where I live. I'll now be aiming to hit 200% of my target! justgiving.com/fundraising/...
P.S. The photo is my two cats, Churro and Cheesecake. We adopted them 18 months ago as rescue cats from the RSPCA and they always make me and my wife smile.

Great news for us! Good luck on the marathon. I appreciate the torture you’ll go through in the name of lupus. ❤️👍Thanks for all the hard work. We do appreciate it! I’m sure the kitties do too.
AHHH, Paul, those sweeties are true coddle bunnies!!!💕 What a sweet pair to come home to.. As animals live in the moment, you have given them there Happy ever after dreams. Your dedication to running for us all, is true dedication, and we are all very proud of what you have done, and will accomplish positively!! You are the wolf in sheep's clothing, stomping out in the face of uncertainty, Lupus... Would love to send Storm over to have a run with you! Blessings to the Generous sponsor, and to you. I know you will surpass the 200% mark!!! We are off to the races! Peace and health with blessings. thestormy sunshine
I missed your post earlier Paul, but just want to say what gorgeous cats Churro and Cheesecake are. 😘😘 Of the 7 cats I’ve had in my adult life only 3 were given to me as kittens, the rest were rescues and what wonderful cats they all were. Two had been abused so took a long time to fully trust us, but one of those became like my shadow and lived to be 13. Another 2 (sisters) lived to be around 20. So I hope you all have very long and happy lives together.🙏🏻🙏🏻
That’s fantastic news regarding your fundraising goal. 👏🏻👏🏻 Well done Paul. I’ll be thinking of you on the 26th April even if you are forced to run locally. Do please post some pictures of the event.
Thanks so much Paul for sharing the positivity and your beautiful cats churro and cheesecake!. Unusual names but I bet they give you and your wife such joy!. That's marvellous news about your running and donations and you'll still be able to raise awareness where you live !. Xx
Me too re every positive comment here. We had a cat for 17 years called Mona because she was as inscrutable as the Mona Lisa. She was spitting image of the white dappled one (cheesecake perhaps?) on the right.
Yay to the sponsored run going ahead any which way.
We sponsored you anon because my hubby has the PayPal a/c and he is too paranoid to put a name to anything! Hope there’s a nice breeze for your run so you don’t end up as a melted wolf! X
And I know we are all so very grateful to you and LUK for all the hard work you do raising awareness and providing this wonderfully safe and supportive forum for us. 🤗
