Essential thrombocythemia

I was wondering if anyone diagnosed with lupus has had this diagnosis too? I seem to be having trouble with my platelets and blood and was wondering if this could be related to my lupus. I have had several pulmonary embolisms over the past year. Most recently two in my right pulmonary artery on June 10th.

I also have Lupus with low platelets. Mine are normally around 30 to 40.

My specialist don't really know why my platelets are so low. One thing they have told me is if I need any dental work or operations then I would be given platelets before the procedure.

This happened so I could have a tooth removed.

I have now got a clot on my portal vein and still waiting for answers.

Wow, I am sorry about your clot. Since December 2020, I have had so many clots (in lungs, leg, and just sitting next to the opening of my heart). They still are trying to figure out what is happening since all the medications they give, doesn’t help at all. So weird how your body can suddenly work against you isn’t it?
