Hi all, I have Subacute Cutaneous Lupus, ?SLE . Has anyone heard of or used Altruist Sunscreen which is endorsed by DR Andrew Birnie, an English Consultant dermatologist. It is much lower in price and gets good reviews but I wanted to check out if any of you have used it and is it good enough for people with SCLE.

Hi, I use it all the time and have been for approx 2 years now. No issues with it, no white cast with the spf 50 face fluid either. I’ve also tried la roche posay which was a lot more expensive and would say it’s just as good. I have discoid lupus and RA.
I use grum which is a repackaged altruist (because I can subscribe and get bottles posted out to me automatically and it is nice to have one less thing to remember) and it is pretty good- just as good as more expensive sunscreen for protection and tolerable to wear. I actually find it more pleasant to wear than la roche posey and not being tested on animals which is a bonus.
It isn’t quite as nice to wear as sos facial sunscreen which i would say was my absolute favorite but half the price so I can live with it.
I haven’t noticed a scent.. but I’m stuffed up with hayfever at the moment. Hopefully someone else will come along with a better idea. Can also recommend their Urea cream and hyalronic face moisturiser too.
