Hi Everyone, I have SLE and I am due to go to the Caribbean for a week. Unfortunately me and my body have this battle as I absolutely love the Sun and love travelling but my body has other ideas (flare ups).
Is there any sunscreen SPF 50+ brands that anyone recommends or tips and advice for those who love a beach holiday but have to avoid the sun?
All suggestions welcome

hello, I've been to Turkey many times and enjoy the sun and warmth. I use Nivea 50+, it rubs in nicely and not too greasy. I find wearing loose fitting cotton or linen is ideal and there is always 'hard' shade (ie not an umbrella but something solid that doesn't allow any rays through) to sit in. Do the usual keeping out of the sun in the middle of the day. My best buy is a UV blocking parasol - many available on Amazon and suchlike - it's like my own little bit of shade I carry around with me and doesn't flatten your hair like a hat does. Have a lovely time! Heather
Enjoy your holiday but no sunbaking!! Get a good quality sunscreen wear sunglasses and hat and loose cotton long sleeves and pants over your loveliest swimsuit!
You and your skin could suffer if you are not careful!
I use Ultrasun 50 in fact I use it on my face 360 days a year. Ultrasun only needs one application albeit if you’re going to a very hot country then I’d repeat in the afternoon. OVC have the best prices. I also double my steroids when I go on holiday to avoid a flare. I also rest for a couple of days to start with for my body to adjust. Hope that helps 😊
