I would like to know what you do to help with joint stiffness. Exercise and movement worse than a few years ago. I would like to prevent worsening and if possible increase mobility.

Water exercise - we have a pool near by that does an exercise referral class so tailored to people with medical needs. It works for my joints. Stretching regularly (when I do it) makes a difference. I have exercises for my hands, back and ankles.
Hi Cate, I have cutaneous lupus. I am also a taichi qigong teacher and specialise in long term conditions - I have discomfort and stiffness but I do have full range of movement - the qi gong seems to really help, as does, as someone else mentioned, being in the water.
Tai chi or qigong are based on the energy theories of Chinese medicine ( like acupuncture is) so they are very safe and holistic exercises - good for mood as well
Hi Cate I have SLE and do stretches first thing in the morning then get up and carry on regardless! It does loosen me up. Good luck
