Hi, I am the new one here 😁.

I have a question about Coagucheck test Strips for INR testing. I am sire that you heard that a lot and I am sorry if this is boring but is there anyone who could help me to get a bit more info about. My question is if I can get a prescription for the strops as they are quiet expensive?

Wish everyone a great week😊

Thank you

I suspect that you would need a really good reason since GPs provide the service free, Do you get the device paid for? We didn't here in Italy - because it is free at the GP. It was expensive to start with. And yes - the strips are very expensive!!!

Hi,Yeah my GP said that they don't prescribe them. I paid gor the decice myself as NHS do not cover unfortunately. I found on a website that GP's should prescribe them.

Thanks for your help and info.

I think it depends on the GP, or Clinical Commissioning Group. I know some people on the Atrial Fibrillation Forum get test strips prescribed.

I get mine on prescription. My reasoning with the GP was saving them valuable appointments/money and self management of a long term condition.

I just spoke to the clinic in St. George. The team told me that I will get the strips from them if GP will not prescribe. Thank you all for the info. Take care and stay safe!

I get mine on prescription. In the uk the Nice guidelines state that they are available on script. My GP was reluctant until I said that Nice say they should be provided and also that where possible people should be encouraged to self test.I. Have had better control doing it myself
