Blood in urine for 3 wks but no infection- help.

Hello, I've had continuing blood in my urine for 3 wks but no sign of a UTI. Has anyone else had this problem? I've also had abnormal kidney+liver blood test results. I've had kidney disease in the past. Is this it coming back? I have to wait til 19th Feb for an "urgent" appointment with Urology. Is it ok to keep bleeding until then+ do nothing about it? Thank you.

Hi white magnum,Did the GP give you any advice on what to do while you’re waiting for your appointment with urology?

My daughter was peeing blood with no explanation and also had an urgent appointment but was also told if she got a temperature, suddenly couldn’t pee anymore or had unbearable pain, she was to go to A&E. she was ok until her appointment and it turned out it was kidney stones, which she said wouldn’t even have crossed her mind as had no other symptoms.

The urologist will be able to tell you if kidney disease is returning, (I hope it isn’t) and if you’re still concerned about waiting for appointment speak to GP

They’ll be the best ones to say if you need to go sooner. I hope it’s sorted soon 🙂

Thank you for your reply. The GP told me to go to A+E if the pain got really bad but didn't say anything else. I'll just wait for the appointment if it's no big deal to pee blood for several weeks!

Only a week to go now. Advice above stands! Wishing you well - it just has to be investigated as there are many possible reasons so none of us can tell you why or give reassurance at this stage. Wish we could 🤔

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue and are having to wait some time for an appointment. Is your GP aware of the wait for the urgent appointment? I would suggest that it would be a good idea to make sure that they know, and if the symptoms worsen at all, then I would advise that you contact your GP or the NHS 111 service.

Hello Alida_Horne, thank you for your advice. I had a cystoscopy but it showed nothing,the inside of the bladder and the urethra looked healthy+normal(apart from a urethral stricture but I knew I had that already). The bleeding had stopped by then unfortunately, however it has returned and I'm into my third week of it again. The GP knows but says to wait for the last set of results which are CT kidney scan(I had it 2 weeks ago). I'm just praying it shows something!
