Hi everyone, I have Lupus since 2017 and apparently Fibromyalgia as well, I’m doing my best to keep myself healthy, I do exercise, I try to follow a reasonable diet and to be honest it’s helping me a lot. Although some days is like a nightmare where just by moving a finger is a humongous challenge, yet if I go for my training it release me from at least the 60-80% of the pain.
One thing that I believe has a huge impact in my body is my mood, sadness or depression can really really make me go back so, I’m including therapy with a psychologist to help me to face all of this in a different perspective. I know Lupus is different in every one, yet has some of the same symptoms that affects all of us in almost the same way. I read a lot about it, about Lupus and causes or what triggers Lupus; For my surprise I found out that the common factor is a mental state, stress, depression, sadness, which I felt several times, until one day someone told me to “make peace with my mind” I did not understood At the beginning but now. I put it in practice and within the last 3 months I feel a difference, not huge but enough. I am not a doctor or anything like it.
I thought that maybe, just maybe it could help others as well. Thanks everyone for reading and if there’s any Lupus group around me, please, let me know.
Happy new year to everybody.

Hi Da_vinci, many of us suffer with mental health complications arising from the stress of living with chronic illness. A lot of people on this forum, including me, will relate to what you are saying. I’m so glad you have found some mental approaches that are helpful for you. Take care x
