Hi I'm just wondering if anyone suffers from muscle spasms in the neck and chest, these course the so much pain for days, I can't sleep or eat, the doctors out me on tramadol and diazapan. She said it's another curve ball that lupus throw at me, it this a fact or another case of blaming lupus for everything. I'm off work at the moment with one of these episode, I just couldn't move or breath without terrible pain, or though 3 days in and it has started to ease. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Muscle spasms
Hi, I have Lupus and I have spasms in the neck along the right side and into the occipital area. Very painful when they happen but doesn't sound nearly as debilitating as yours. I have pain and severe spasms in the ribs all the way around which feel like a steel cage, including in the front. THAT is my constant companion to varying levels of pain, sometimes so I can’t move and when I put my arm out to reach for something it nearly floors me. My GP tells me this is costochondritis. Is that the sort of pain in you’re experiencing? My doctor wouldn’t take me seriously for months and months. Took a shouting match to get it looked at even, and that row resulted in my lupus diagnosis by the rheumatologist as they had missed ANA positive tests long before. If it persists yo need to keep going back, by phone, to your doctor. When you say “doctor” do you mean the GP or rheumatologist? I hope you get through this soon, it sounds horrific. I am sure some of the people here will have far more help than my message as I am relatively new here, but I hope your pain eases soon. X❤️X
Thank you so much, but it turns out after a hospital visit because I could no longer stand the pain, they think the pain is coming from my kidney and I was passing a stone, how a doctor can diagnose you on a phone is beyond me. Still in pain but it's easing a little.
Oh they try! Our receptionist diagnosed me with an infection without me speaking about what was wrong ! “We are only seeing people with dire emergency problems, and we do NOT consider an infection dire emergency” there you go! Magic, clairvoyant receptionists, so you can have little faith in that system. I’m glad they found out what the problem was. I hope you are in a lot less pain now. Best wishes.
Thank you, the pain is moving down and now in my upper tummy area and not quite as bad, but I'm livid with my surgery, my son is a paramedic, he said any pain like I described, wether chest or otherwise, a doctor should see you to rule out blood clots or in my case kidney stones, I felt such a baby screaming ot and crying in pain, just as well I live alone. My son is furious.
