Just after being diagnosed with this after suffering over a year with agonising pain from my wrist/hand area! Doctors first thought it was Carpal Tunnel but after some scans, it seems as if the inflammation is coming from tendons at the base of my thumb.
Just wondering if anyone has suffered with this? As my doctors etc don’t seem to know very much about it!

I have been experiencing similar pain and added this link, though older it gives some feedback & maybe of interest. It was posted by Wendy and she was mentioning this to me & my issues with thumb leading to my wrists... So helpful for me too.... healthunlocked.com/lupusuk/...
medicalnewstoday.com/articl.... Found another link with some exercises for your hand.... I will give them a try too.... Also there is advise about using cold packs, splints & de inflammatory gels etc. ml
Hi Maggie, also sorry to hear you are suffering with similar pain! My orthopaedic specialist diagnosed me with this last week but I am still waiting on MRI results for some more clarity.
I am waiting to see an Occupational Therapist to be fitted with a splint & will also return to my Orthopaedics in 3 months to get a steroid injection under the sheath of the tendons at the base of my thumb (hopefully that will give some pain relief)
The next route after that is surgery to release the pressure on the tendons.
