I've been having problems with my pharmacist supplying xentiva or Blackrock which I always request and they've just delivered my meds and this time they've given me IPCA labs, which I've not heard of and since the pharmacy is a nightmare to get hold of to organise a replacement, I wondered if anyone has tried it and if it's yucky like quinoric or Bristol labs or ok like xentiva or Blackrock??
Hydroxy - IPCA laboratories : I've been having... - LUPUS UK
Hydroxy - IPCA laboratories
I posted about this a few months ago when a box of IPCA appeared in my pharmacy bag. I discovered from another member that it is made in India n the UK bought loads of it when covid first emerged n hydroxy was being touted as medication that might help combat covid. It was to ensure that people in UK already taking hydroxy didn't suffer from shortages in there treatment.Just a few weeks ago another member had IPCA turn up in her pharmacy bag n she did some more research n discovered that it's the same as Bristol..same ingredients n yes same awful taste!! 🤢🌈😽😽 Xx
Hi KK 🖐 I take 2 chewable orange vit c tablets after I take all my tablets...helps get rid of the awful aftertaste especially if pred or armour thyroid tablets dissolve 🤢 xxx
😹I do the same after my evening dose!! It's awful when a pred doesn't go down quickly enough too 🤢 I take my morning meds with a glass of goats milk n my fingers crossed!! 🤞😹While you're here can I ask a quick question about your eyedrops? I was prescribed Hypromellose eye drops by GP for my sicca symptoms..I had previously been buying hyloforte eyedrops on line. I find the Hypromellose really funny n they don't seem to be as effective as hyloforte so I've reverted back to hyloforte for now.
I have read that u were prescribed hyloforte recently by the eye hospital..can I ask why did they prescribe it for u instead of Hypromellose? N do u find the hyloforte better? 🌈😽😽Xx
I had never been prescribed any eyes drops by gp so had bought hypomellose myself to try to ease symptoms.when I went to the hospital they told me that hypermellose are cheap and rubbish and for sicca you've got to have preservative free.the hospital said I had chronic dry eyes which contribute to the episcleritis and instructed my gp to prescribe hyloforte which they did and they are now on repeat I get 1 bottle a month.i find they do help my issue is getting into the routine of using them even if my eyes feel ok.i keep 1 bottle in the bathroom for morning and night and 1 bottle downstairs for during the day .at least with the hyloforte you dont need to throw them away after 1 month .have you asked you gp or your rheumatologist about prescribing them ? Xxx
Ok thank you I saw rheumy n told him I was using hyloforte..he did the schirmer test n confirmed sicca symptoms n my bloods r positive for anti-RO n anti-LA antibodies. I posted here to ask if this meant sjogrens n discovered that yes it does n I shouldn't need a lip biopsy.
I contacted GP after that appointment to see if I could get hyloforte prescribed n she said that they can prescribe an alternative (Hypromellose preservative free eye drops)
So I started using those instead n tbh my eyes once they'd stopped running for ages actually seemed to be getting drier?!?! So I stopped n went back to using hyloforte which seem to last longer n give better results.
Ok well thanks for letting me know..think I'll try n get them on prescription at some point.
Enjoy your walk this morning..it's chucking it down here today!! 🌈😽😽Xx
I dont know why some are so reluctant to prescribe eye drops when there is a definate diagnosis of sjorgens .you'll just have to tell her they make your eyes sore or something lol 🤭. My eyes water profusely too...a woman in the chemist (precovid) thought i was crying lol.Or ask rheumatology to tell gp...sometimes they have to be told rather than being asked .Windy but dry here..according to Alexa no rain forecast so washing going out once I've swallowed my tablets and move my butt.😴 walks have been hard work recently as millie has her ",I'm not walking" head on 🙄🤨.her latest "thing" is you throw you fetch while I run up and down the same 12 ft of beach 🤷♀️.shes gett7ng more contrary with age ! Poor Marlz xxxxx
😹I've just swallowed my tablets too!! That's very helpful thank u n good idea about telling GP about side effects..need an alternative etc..maybe I can steer her in the right direction?!? 🤔😹
You throw..you fetch!! 😹😹Hilarious!! They're just like kids sometimes.
Glad to hear it's NOT raining in your neck of the woods!! 😉🌈😽😽Xx
End of may and it's a woolly hat day .we were on flood alert after the rain at the weekend so a few dry days are needed. I think kids are easier sometimes lol although my daughter might disagree with her independent 7 year old.once over I could tell her to go get her ball but now shes deaf it's a case of ...ok I'll get the ball .they both know hand signals but I'm sure she turns a blind eye to them lol.Son got covid jab 2weeks ago ...just in time for college finishing but hayho hes got it and that's the main thing xxxx
I got this about a month ago and was wary because of the look and taste. I checked the ingredients against the ones online for Bristol and they're exactly the same. Contacted my pharmacist, who were very helpful and made sure I got Zentiva the next day. They now have it on their system that I'm only to get Zentiva because they said they don't always know what will turn up.
I take Zentiva Hydroxychloroquine as it suits me best. I use my local Pharmacy who does her best to order them in for me, but occasionally is unable to get them from her suppliers, and understand they use multiple suppliers. But she persists until she can get some in. On two occasions I have got them from a Boots Pharmacy, as they stock that brand and the two branches I used (one in Surrey and one in Hampshire) appeared to keep supplies in stock. In previous years there appeared to be a manufacturing supply issue with Zentiva being unavailable for weeks if not months. Then another issue sometime later with a breakdown between pharmacies, suppliers and the manufacturer when supplies were available but not getting through to pharmacies, and that was resolved eventually. I prefer to go to the pharmacy to ensure I am being given the correct brand, and my surgery words the prescriptions to ensure I get Zentiva. I appreciate some people are not able to get out and therefore need to have them delivered. Hope you get yours sorted.
I have these now as a result of Zentiva being hard to get. I have had no problems at all.India produces many of our drugs.
