Hi, does anyone knows how this app works? I received this notification from the app earlier but I rarely use the app and Im quite clueless. I am now worried about me and people around me as I have been home the past 2 days.

Hi Iamnotmydiagnosis ,

The app uses Bluetooth on your mobile to track when you have been close to other people who have subsequently had a positive COVID-19 test. This notification indicates that you have been close to someone who tested positive and therefore you are advised to self-isolate as a precaution.

If you have any symptoms, then you should book a test.

Hi Paul,

Thank you for the clarification. I thought the app is only able to track if you venue check in but I just realised my bluetooth contact tracing is on hence probably how I was notified. I am now self isolating and still feeling a little unwell after my vaccination which makes me a little anxious if its from the actual vaccine that I just had or covid itself. I might just be overthinking and it could just be the adverse effect from the vaccine. Regards

Hi Iamnotmydiagnosis ,

I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling unwell following your vaccination. If you experience any of the main symptoms (a high temperature, a new, continuous cough or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste) then you should book a COVID-19 test.

Hi, yes its a genuine NHS Covid app I downloaded during the first lockdown. Some people are just horrible taking advantage of the situation😖
