Really odd getting a letter this morning (with my NHS number) asking me to make appointment. What a waste of money sending these out. Doesn’t anyone update their shielding records? The NHS app knows I’m vaccinated!
Anyone ex-shielder just had a letter asking them ... - LUPUS UK
Anyone ex-shielder just had a letter asking them to go for COVID vaccine when they’re fully vaccinated and have the NHS app confirming it?
Yup, had it yesterday! Like you, I'm fully vaccinated. Came in a bright blue envelope, too...
So I’m not alone. Crazy isn’t it Choccy8!
I was almost tempted to try and get another! On the 'more the merrier' principle...
👍Glad you posted...🤷🏼♀️guess this is just more wasteful inefficiency?
But, 😏 @ 1st I thought: OMG, are they giving us ‘clinically extremely vulnerable’ that 3rd vacc dose I’ve heard about? What a sucker I am 🤣🤣🤣🤣
❤️🍀❤️🍀 Coco
Yes it came on Thursday I think it's now in recycling x
Keeping mine as proof of incompetence at enquiries later 🙄🤣
🤣🤣🤣love it!
I've been double jabbed since April and I know it's on my medical records at my gp as I can see it .most probably a generic ketter sent out to try to get those that haven't had theirs xx
Was the letter signed by Matt Hancock, Dame Dido Harding or Boris?🤣🤥🤥🤥🤥One wonders how many addressees should have had the letter but didn’t and those here who don’t need that letter getting it INSTEAD?
Beggars belief at the incompetence and waste of postage.
Yes, I received one yesterday so it's a relief to hear others have too. Like some have said, I hope we'll still be on the autumn booster list!
I would ring up the vaccine help line and just say you’ve had a letter but are fully vaccinated what’s going on? At least you got them, my poor hubby had to get our MSP involved to get his first one as he wasn’t on the system despite having just had a hospital appointment through? Then he hadn’t heard about having his 2nd jab although they’ve bought it down to 8 weeks between here in Scotland so he filled in a missing appointment form heard nothing checked again nothing rang the helpline they couldn’t find any record of him nor his 1st vaccine! This time the person he spoke to was very sensible and took all the details and went off to sort it out upshot was he got a call back a few days later to go the next day so he finally has had two shots! Me I got all my letters and appointments no problem! Think it’s luck of the draw the nhs is just as incompetent in Scotland too!
Not had this and agree its weird, but I looked at my doctors app on the weekend checking blood test results 🙄 and they have me down as having a positive covid result last week, so weird as I haven't. Phone call this morning to have it taken off!!
I actually got one saying my partner who had to work could now have one at the same time as me as I was high risk … which I had asked about ages ago. Anyway that was another waste of government money as I had both mine ages ago and by the time the letter arrived my partner had already had his first and was awaiting his second ! 🤦🏻♀️
It just shows we need to be alert to what's happening as if we wait for letters it can be weeks/months later. My student daughter's just had her 2nd jab, all because Paul posted on here, end of March I think, that those living in the same household as the shielding could get them.
Often it is cheaper and more efficient to send a letter to everyone in a certain group than to pick and choose who to send it to. This is particularly the case when it is more important to send to everyone who hasn't had the vaccine than to not send it to those who already have had it. Its pennies in the context of NHS spending which is why its done this way.
