Taking Probiotics for lupus?

Hi! I was wondering if anyone was taking probiotics and if it had an effect on their lupus?

And what probiotic would you recommend? Supplement or like a yogurt such as activia or yakult or naturally through things like kombucha?

Thanks!

I make my own goats milk kefir it’s supposed to be great for the gut. Started a month or so after I got diagnosed In May with lupus sle. If your stomach can take it I was recommended to use stomach enzyme tablets too. The kefir is fine And I quite like it but I stopped the enzymes for now as I have had gastritis but as soon as I’m feeling better I’ll be back on them. I’m trying to come off prednisone and Hydroxycholiquine And hope with more natural things I can manage without meds.

Anything natural is worth I try I think but of course depends how bad your condition is.

I tried many different ones and if anything had negative effect as i already have SIBO and slow motility in general so extra bacteria wasn't helpful. Sometimes i think lupus patients react to bacteria even thou it's beneficial bacteria to regular folks. I suggest you monitor careful how you react.

Hi Sue

Thanks for this i think it’s a difficult one as we are all different and depends how bad our symptoms are. I am going to share this with my osteopath who recommended to start the gut health. So much is trial and error.
