Hi all just wanted to update you all on the priority deliveries issue I had for my dad and myself. Many of you suggested I get in contact with his social care worker and the council. Well we did and my dad has already received his free box of goodies and will have someone to do his shopping thankfully. Many thanks for all those who replied and suggested this.
As I'm on the vulnerable list myself and received my letter telling me to shield I still hadn't heard anything with regards to priority deliveries etc. even after registering on the gov website. A woman called me on Wednesday morning to enquire whether I'd receivedy letter and was there anything they could do to help so I told her I couldn't get a delivery and no help at all. She went through my application on the gov website and said I should try to get a delivery Well as soon as I put the phone down I went onto the tesco online shopping and voila there was a slot for 2 days later!! She also told me that my medication. Should also be delivered to me and to contact the pharmacy who dispenses my medication and as I had a prescription with them I called and it was delivered the next day!! If I hadn't got that call I'd probably still be trying to get a delivery. My faith has been restored!! Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who responded to meππ

Thatβs really good to hear Tre123, well done for persevering with the admin - worth it in the end for you and your dad. Thanks for letting us know and take care xx
Hi, great to hear you got sorted. My daughter received her 2 nd parcel on friday filled with lots of goodies, she gets a weekly phonecall from the council to check on her and the kids to see if there's anything else they can help with. Hope your dad enjoys his goody bag π
Unfortunately this has taken time.My daughter received her shielding letter for my granddaughter on the 2 nd april and received her first parcel on 24 th april. As with everything with this coronavirus we all have to wait for things, the powers that be get there in the end. Stay safe
ππππππ that's great news. It's an emotional rollercoaster isn't it? The stress of not getting any help then the relief when the cavalry finally show up and you can actually get a slot!
Well done for persevering and thank you for the update!
So glad Tre! For the both of you. Thanks so much for updating us. I hope you are both supported well ongoing. What a good daughter you are. Take care xx
Glad to hear everything worked out. I'm the opposite. Have my food box sorted, priority delivery slots allocated, recieving calls off local council and shielding helpline but still no official letter or text stating I should be shielding!
Can you not call your rheumatologist and ask them what's going on? I didn't receive mine when they were all being sent out when everyone was telling me that I should have had mine. So I emailed my rheumatology department and received a text 2 says later and 2 days after I received my letter. Give it a go as you've nothing to lose. I hope that gets results for you. Stay safe π
Does shielding mean the same as isolating?(here in Aust.) I am in week 8 of isolation because of my compromised immune system (like the rest of us on this site!)
