Doing better, thanks! Took a walk. Stores are open as well as some coffee bars for carry out. Lots of ambulances, though.
Good news 👍 our supermarkets are open and pets at home is open (pet store) not been into town, but funny you mention lots of ambulances I have not seen or heard one which is very unusual 🤷♀️ Hope that’s a good sign and not lack of them .

Yes! I even had a glass of white wine at my coffee bar. Had to get it in a plastic cup and sit outside. A group of nurses came in from a nearby hospital to get their coffee pick me up, and I was pleased to be able to thank them in person. Our hospitals in New York are over-whelmed.

I am feeling hopeful that one of the monoclonal antibody drugs is going to be helpful. One was given to patients in the ICU at my old hospital, and a significant number of patients got better - even went home. Most people are not getting better with ventilators, so this is a good sign.

It seems many COVID patients are really dying of what we describe as massive autoimmune disease. Their immune systems cause this over-exuberant attack on their lungs and this is what they die of. That is why these drugs used in autoimmune disease look promising - to stop the cytokine storm.

I think so. More than plaquenil. And there are others with a similar mechanism. Scientists/doctors are working throughout the world and collaborating in a way that has apparently never been seen. I know the US sent companies’ representatives to the UK to consult with British doctors on your prime minister. Do you think that is about using one of these drugs?
