Beware advice from self appointed experts

I read with some consternation a comment made on a blog telling people they don't have to self isolate if they don't have Covid-19. They were replying to a person who had said they are on Chemotherapy, on a host of other meds and has a list of AI conditions. They were wondering what others were doing about taking children to school whilst they are still open in relation to the guidance for people who are immunosuppressed to stay in. Some of the 'advice' out there in the blogs isn't based on knowledge or expertise.

Was it here on HU? Some blogs can be so dodgy and we've had some quite hair raising stuff on the PMRGCAuk forum!!!!

I have spotted one on HU that I replied to hoping the person amends their comment but have also read comments on other blogs that are questionable. It's a worrying and confusing time as it is.

Don't just reply to dangerous rubbish - Report it to HU as being potentially dangerous as well. If they are really risky they will be banned.

Think someone has beaten me to it, can't find the post now, thankfully.

I don't believe anything as everyone is a so called 'expert' and the media just anyone up, they give advice and the next person just contradicts it! So its best just to ignore it all.

To be honest I have always ask my GP, Rheumy or dermatologist and tend to advise others as they are the best ones who know you, your drugs and symptoms that affect you the most. Yes we can have similar symptoms but from what I can make out it's at various levels and one drug may work for many but not everyone.

Hope I have made sense seem to be a bit foggy or maybe having a few senior moment's.
