🤷🏼♀️ GOSH...so the theory IS ‘out there’ ...this isn’t Fake News, it’s legitimate science? And possibly THE first-line treatment many of us respond positively to MAY somehow help us in some way with this current virus....AMAZING ...can’t wait to find out what others make of this 👍👏👏👏❤️🍀
PS for anyone curious: the post i’d just started here a few minutes ago explains A LOT more about this:

WOW, Barnclown, this is very positive information. How curiously amazing it would be in the possibility of a medication many of us use, to be protecting. This philosophy, and study could have huge benefits. Though, I see it is in the infancy stages, it is still worth following. Thank you for the posting. Kind of hopeful, and uplifting evidence. Be safe, be well, stay strong.. Wishing you the best. prayers and blessings thestormy sunshine
👍 Definitely! Have just added an excerpt, below in reply to Roarah, from an officially published study about this..the link is included. Seems quite a lot of research has already been done...i won’t be surprised if, at some point, we end up sharing hydroxy supplies with the general population.....🍀❤️🍀❤️
Thats so interesting. Yes, I was just looking at your excerpt there. So we may be the ones who control this nasty virus! I just hope Hydroxy, if workable, to the public at some point, does not become like the great Toilet Paper world shortage of 2020, LOL.. Keep up the so great information Barnclown!! Ha, we have no TP for bums.... still trying to keep the giggles going... fondly, thestormy sunshine

there are a few more out there from reasonable sources but all very early stage and theoretical including one saying exports from UK of hydroxychloroquine banned at present.
Nice to see something positive and hopeful and people working so hard on the problem
It may do different things for those with and those without autoimmune conditions. So early days. Best wishes Kevin
I posted this on a question this weekend. There is even a covid19 trail for treatment with HCQ in the works presently.
HCQ has actually been shown to offer antiviral protection to many viruses
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...
but has not yet been fully studied inregards to covid-19. But there is a trial in the works.

I think use common sense practices of social distancing( no hand shakes, hugs, kisses, five feet between you and others), wash hands frequently, and do not touch your face. Try to be positive but follow the guidelines your doctor suggests. In addition to these practices studies have proven that exercise and stress reduction( meditation) are proven to significantly reduce catching other viruses like flu and colds.

THANKS...& YES: If you go to the post i put up here tonight, there is another link to a legit report with details re this covid19/hydroxy trail:

AND here’s more from the heroic author of The Lupus Encyclopedia: Don Thomas, MD, who cites the above paper & goes on to say:
Plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine) found to be effective against SARS Coronavirus-2 infected cells. The Asian authors recommended treatment with Plaquenil 400 mg a day after a loading dose for SARS CoVi-2.
SHARE with everyone who takes Plaquenil
Very interesting indeed. Note that this study was performed on a different strain of Coronavirus (not COVID-19).
Numerous studies show that patients with systemic lupus who take Plaquenil regularly overall have fewer infections and lower death rates from infections than those who do not take Plaquenil.
Another good reason to be on Plaquenil if you have lupus or Sjogren's. Just make sure to get your eye tests yearly (an SD-OCT and a VF 10-2 ... if Asian... also get a VF 24-2)
Stay safe everyone!

🤗 think i should add an excerpt from this paper:
The Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) first broke out in Wuhan (China) and subsequently spread worldwide. Chloroquine has been sporadically used in treating SARS-CoV-2 infection. Hydroxychloroquine shares the same mechanism of action as chloroquine, but its more tolerable safety profile makes it the preferred drug to treat malaria and autoimmune conditions. We propose that the immunomodulatory effect of hydroxychloroquine also may be useful in controlling the cytokine storm that occurs late-phase in critically ill SARS-CoV-2 infected patients. Currently, there is no evidence to support the use of hydroxychloroquine in SARS-CoV-2 infection.
Methods
The pharmacological activity of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine was tested using SARS-CoV-2 infected Vero cells. Physiologically-based pharmacokinetic models (PBPK) were implemented for both drugs separately by integrating their in vitro data. Using the PBPK models, hydroxychloroquine concentrations in lung fluid were simulated under 5 different dosing regimens to explore the most effective regimen whilst considering the drug’s safety profile.
Results
Hydroxychloroquine (EC50=0.72 μM) was found to be more potent than chloroquine (EC50=5.47 μM) in vitro. Based on PBPK models results, a loading dose of 400 mg twice daily of hydroxychloroquine sulfate given orally, followed by a maintenance dose of 200 mg given twice daily for 4 days is recommended for SARS-CoV-2 infection, as it reached three times the potency of chloroquine phosphate when given 500 mg twice daily 5 days in advance.
Conclusions
Hydroxychloroquine was found to be more potent than chloroquine to inhibit SARS-CoV-2 in vitro.
The trial in my link is for COVID 19 it is also called 2019-nCov for 2019 Novel Coronavirus.
👍Yes: there seem to several diff addrevs in play re this & types of coronaria virus! 🤷🏼♀️Am not sure what’s really what, bit am TRYING to understand...eg here’s wiki:
Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), previously known by the provisional name 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), is a strain of positive-sense single-stranded RNA virus. It is contagious in humans and is the cause of the ongoing 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic, a worldwide epidemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) that has been designated a Public Health Emergency of International Concern by the World Health Organization (WHO).....
SARS-CoV-2 has close genetic similarity to bat coronaviruses, from which it likely originated. An intermediate reservoir such as a pangolin is also thought to be involved in its introduction to humans. From a taxonomic perspective SARS-CoV-2 is classified as a strain of the species severe acute respiratory syndrome-related coronavirus (SARSr-CoV).
Because the strain was first discovered in Wuhan, China, it is sometimes referred to informally as the Wuhan coronavirus, although the World Health Organization (WHO) discourages the use of names based upon locations. To avoid confusion with the disease SARS, the WHO sometimes refers to the virus as "the virus responsible for COVID-19" in public health communications.

This is EPICLY fascinating!!! Thank you all for taking the time and for caring so much to share this. We could be at the forefront of something wonderful for us and the world.. I can't get enough of reading here. Thank the good Lord for the many who decided to study Hydroxy in view of different introduced methods. Great science here. Keep passing this on good people.. Blessings thestormy sunshine
😆👍👍👍👍 there is something V SPECIAL about hydroxy...🤩 HURRAH for ALL the researchers who are actively trying to figure out more re HOW & WHY it can help as much as it does 👏👏👏👏👏 am HOPING this sort of science will go on to help millions around the globe, including our BRAVE healthcare workers at the Front Line🍀❤️🍀❤️
Will check the links.... Thanks for sharing....
It would be great if it could protect or help the severity of this virus...
The thought right now of being a low priority in Italy due to age & health condition is a wake up call that is unimaginable...

Hello
I have seen that there is a study about Hydroxychloroquine in Shanghai right now.
It’s interesting.
But my question is, if you take Hydroxychloroquine alone, then it may offer you some protection BUT what if you also take an immune suppressant? Does the immune suppressant negate the benefit of the Hydroxychloroquine? I haven’t seen any discussion about this?
So many questions.
But it is positive news, nonetheless.

Hi Wendy. All this is work in progress. Will take a few years. The virus hopefully will speed up the research and the outcomes. The important thing is keep taking the medication. Keep smiling. Best wishes Kevin
