For MEGS53

As requested here is another picture of my gorgeous Beas puppies- they are literally growing so quickly everyday - 1 of the boys we’ve nicknamed fat boy as he is really greedy and pushes the other 2 out of the way 😂 I’ve never done this before and got to say it’s very hard work although Bea is a brilliant mother she accidentally keeps siting on them so me and other half take it in turn at night to watch them x

Oh they are gorgeous, they look like Schnauzer puppies ? Its is normal for first time mums to be a bit clumsy and squish them, normally puppy yelling will make them move off of them, but not always, it is all new and scary to the new mum. It will get better, but she looks from the photograph to be settled, Do you have back up help when it comes to things like trimming puppies nails to prevent them scratching mums milk bar ? Congratulations by the way.😊

Thankyou yes think it’s normal for her to be abit clumsy as first time mum but she is so attentive cleaning them as soon as one squeaks she is there - got my other half to hold puppies whilst I clipped their nails which was not easy as they are like little needles x

They are going to be so entertaining over the coming weeks of lock down. If you have a Pets at Home near you and anyone can pop and shop for you, ask them to look for kitten nail clippers, they look like scissors except the end is rounded off, and they have a notch like bit near the top, you can carefully hook the little white ends of the puppies nails and simply close, no chance of problems, much better than human nail clippers and scissors as you can clearly see everything and not fiddly . 😊😊

Thankyou so much for that advice - I cut the nails yesterday but when I was cleaning her teats today I noticed there was more scratches on her so then got my other half to file the nails down with an emery board as my hands were very swollen today xx

Oh svfarmer sounds painful, love the improvisation with an emery board 👍 I did that once when l broke a slither of tooth off the back of a front tooth, l hate dentists big time, (better now) I used a nail file to remove the sharp bit lol.

I hope that your hands settle down and not prove too painful, beaming over a gentle hug. x
