Hi everyone - I've had lupus for 5 years and have been generally pretty stable. Two months ago I noticed this small red patch/scar on my face out of no where. I remember slightly scratching it by accident so not sure if thats why the mark is taking so long to recover. Does anyone know how I can heal it? I've been putting steroid cream everyday the last month and there hasn't been much improvements any advice would be appreciated! Please excuse the shininess on my face as thats the cream

Pineapple, ask your doctor and if they can’t figure it out, ask your doctor for a referral to see a dermatologist. If you are using steroid cream, please be careful to use the smallest amount possible and only on the concerned area. Steroid cream thins the skin out and causes pre-mature aging as well. Make sure you wash your hands very well too. It’s serious stuff. But please see a dermatologist and ask about less invasive creams if he can suggest any. I think a good BHA could help. Best of luck Pineapple.
I had a similar mark on my leg. Took the cream for 2 weeks. Then had a biopsy. It turned out to be basil skin cancer. the dr scraped it off. no problems.
Hi .. please don’t over use the steroid cream especially on your face as it’s known to thin the skin .. seek advice maybe your practice nurse could help
Get a dermatology referral - don’t let GP fob you off. Comments about steroid are absolutely spot on, so leave it.
