Hi all,Just tying to figure out what we're dealing with here using your experience.
My daughter, which is 10, started what looks to be a case of impetigo (meaning blisters in her nostril, crust and typical looking scabs). She only had few spots (under her nose and in top of one nostril). We started antibiotics orally and applying cream while I was able to spot new spots (no pun) every day in the surrounding areas. We're 8 days into antibiotics treatment and those small delicate pink spots became more red and they sort of spread a bit.
We've e been to few dermatologists, and although they all agreed it doesn't look like a typical impetigo progression, they haven't introduced the option of lupus.
She now has a few circle spots, some flat and dry, some more bumpy and red, mostly on one side of her nose. Around the spots is like a red area.
Does it sound like lupus? Maybe started as a bacterial infection and now triggered something? What should we do? Should we put steroids on it? Every morning I see new small needle like spots that I know will get bigger in the coming days.

Thank you for your reply. They haven't taken swabs as they were so sure it's impetigo and now it's too dry to collect anything. One derm did ask that we do a blood test for HSV although he said it's not typical looking.
She also doesn't have other symptoms like swollen glands or fever. She just says some of them are itchy.
If the dermotologist thought it was a lupus rash they would have done a biopsy, if it doesn’t clear up I would go back to them. It has taken me over ten years to get a diagnosis. Creams can sometimes take a while to work, persevere for a wee bit longer and keep a diary of all her symptoms. You would need an appointment with a rheumatologist to get a diagnosis, they would do all the relevant tests, but it can take a while. It doesn’t sound like my lupus rash but there are probably lots of different ones. My dermotologist looked at mine and said right away it looks like a lupus rash and ordered a biopsy. I hope you get it sorted out soon as it sounds painful.
Thanks for replying. We just went to the third dermatologist which also said it doesn't look like lupus and most chances that it's just a stubborn impetigo that caused redness and bumps. Gave us a very mild steroidal cream to help the inflammation to wind down.
Really hope it'll clear soon as she's only 10 and you know how kids can be cruel about appearance.
And if it is something else then I hope we can get a diagnosis as soon as possible so we can treat it quickly.
