I have been experiencing intermittent gum swelling lately, I don’t really notice until I eat something and today it really hurt after I ate!
I read that prednisolone can cause gum swelling, I am on 8mg at the moment, is that still high enough to cause side effects?? I have had many side effects on pred before but never gum swelling and the side effects were when i was on a high dose.
Could the swelling be potentially a sign of something else?
Also, does anyone have any tips to help ease the swelling?
Xx

Not sure they are swollen but I do find that every so often I get a very sore mouth if I eat something hard - like pizza "bones" (these are proper Italian thin and very crispy pizzas!) or very crusty bread.
I’ve had similar situation with gum swelling. Prednisone didn’t make it better or worse. It didn’t seem relative to prednisone. Taking plaquenil now and it doesn’t help with the swollen gums either. The plaquenil does help with bottom of feet pain and joint pain though
