I just wanted to post a quick message to let you know that after today I will be on annual leave, returning on 02/09/2019. I'm very lucky to be visiting some of my wife's family in Australia!
The LUPUS UK Community Forum won't be abandoned however as Chanpreet_Walia will be back in the office next week to help out with anything she can.
Best wishes,
Paul

Then the weather should be not too bad - far enough north!! Are you going to the reef? Not as it once was but still fascinating. And at CAirns we went up on the train into the mountains and back on the cable car to the Aboriginal Cultural Centre - the film they show made me ashamed to be British. It was a really good experience.
We're also doing the cable car and train. We have planned a day trip into the reef and we're also going to visit a Bat Hospital and a visitor centre to try and spot a wild Platypus. We love animals!
I believe there are lots of hump back whales travelling north past the Gold Coast at the moment. SeaWorld takes a large catamaran out to their migration route from there - and the whales become curious about the boat and come up close - a relative went up there late July and on her particular trip - the boat attracted dolphins. Whales hatred of dolphins are so profound - there was a close range sea mammal chase near the boat with both species jumping out of the water in a frenzy. She said there were about three good but less exciting sightings that day. Probably a lot of luck involved in these trips - a lot of people report seeing nothing. If SeaWorld offers money back for lack of seeing a whale - there might be a good chance of seeing one - although seeing one from a distance isn't that exciting. The windier and rougher the weather - the more active they are and the greater chance of seeing them breach etc.
ps Mossman gorge is one of my favourite places (north of Cairns). Its beautiful - and you (used to be able) to use the natural rock formation in the river there to slide down into a rainforest pool - bit hard on the bum - but fun. Haven't been up there since 1995 - so the rules might have changed.
If you have the chance - its also really worth taking a day trip north to see the Daintree Rainforest - its my favourite place.
Have a wonderful time. We are all sure you deserve it. Can you bring back a kangaroo baby for us??? LOL, some pictures would be nice, as many here have never been there. Enjoy the journey and be safe. peace, blessings, thestorm
