When severe lupus attacked my liver and destroyed my spleen, it also created something called hepatic varices. For those who are not familiar, these are enlarged veins in the gullet which can be dangerous if they burst. On diagnosis you are advised that if you start vomiting blood that you have to get to an A&E as soon as possible, and it severely restricts your ability to travel with confidence and, not surprisingly, is very worrying for your loved ones. Well, I am very pleased to tell you that I have just have an endoscopy to check on the varices, bind them if necessary, and the really good news is that they have all gone! Disappeared! I thought I would share the good news with my fellow lupus patients. With my very best regards, Lily

Thank you! It shows that some of these horrible symptoms can be beaten doesn't it? My loved ones are most relieved having been told they only had a couple of hours to get me treated should they burst. Hope you have a good week, with my very best Lily
