Just putting my paperwork in order which covers most of my exhausting journey! Some bits are missing as I used to get so annoyed that yet another doctor wasn’t helping I would throw the letters in the bin like a spoilt child 😂
Anyhow I keep seeing +1 protein in my urine? Is this normal for those suffering an autoimmune disease? I know we are all different but this triggers a memory when my son was born, 5 years ago they told me I need to go to my gp as I had too much protein in my urine. I never followed it up because quite frankly I needed to look after a new born.
I can’t really find much on the internet about it. If anyone can share their experiences?
Xx

Dear Lisa, Glomerular auto-immune disease can cause protein in the urine. I have IGA Nephropathy, which fits in somewhere with my SLE. In my case, it is always accompanied by gross hematuria, I had a biopsy of the kidney to confirm.
Have you ever had investigations into how your kidneys are doing by a Nephrologist?
That is usually the case Lisa, any red flags they should call you in. If you have a GP appt coming up, as this has been on your mind, always worth mentioning it to him or her.
