Best Christmas pressie ever!!

Christmas Eve a really lovely lady delivered my brand new wheelchair!! The one I have is old fashioned with little wheels at the back..I can't propel myself or even put the brakes on. So this delightful OT lady brought the new one round to my house.

It's black n grey with all the mod cons..big wheels..removable footplates..brakes I can reach..the armrests lift up so that I can transfer if I can't stand up.

I have been housebound for ages but now I feel that I have some of my independence back!!

I am HAPPY KAT!!! 😺XX

It was a lovely surprise because I only had the assessment last week and it was probably going to be delivered end of January..lovely OT Santa had a cancellation and decided to give it to me!! I must admit that I have found it really hard to accept any kind of sitting down arrangement but now it has to be done..I won't feel so disabled now when I go out..it was embarrassing having to bark instructions to my hard of hearing, long suffering wonderful hubby. I don't do too well when someone else is in the driving seat!! Xx

Make the most of it - though I do hope HofH hubby was giving a training course in use of your new wheels just in case! My HofH hubby wouldn't be a good driver either...

He's just had a go in it..the man's a rubbish driver..I could hear him banging into the walls in the hallway cursing under his breath..when he eventually made it back into the living room he said..cor it's not easy is it!! 😹Xx

Hope the lesson sank in!!!!! Mine has no spatial sense - even at the best of times! Wouldn't like to see him let loose on one - in or out of it!

Great news Kat,

That really will make a difference. My OT was equally quick in getting stuff to me after the assessment. So great when things work to help us, rather than put more obstacles in the way. x

I know isn't it marvellous what these people do? It made such a refreshing change to actually have someone on side who believes what I'm saying. I'm now on this ladies caseload so if I have any problems with the chair she'll make sure it gets fixed or replaced..its FAB!! Xx
