As my appointment is getting closer, I’m sitting here doubting my own self. Does anyone else have a rash that presents itself differently ?

The photo I am posting, shows a variation in how my rash exposes its self. The left photo is during a spike in my hormines, it burns like hell but no rise in body temperature.

The photo on the right, is a combination of a spike in hormones and persistent sun exposure for 5 days, while on holiday!

Been out in the sun today , first time in a while, and my skin on my face is now raised and a burning tingling sensation! The thought of being photosensitive is a nightmare. I’m also day 26 of my cycle, so a combination of sun and hormones seems to be creating a living nightmare for me!!!!

O dear, sorry Lisalou😧. Do you use sunblock? There's a good one called sun sense from Australia, you could use a parasol as well xx

I am that stage where I’m trying to convince myself it’s not the sun. Have had clear skin all day, out in the sun for half an hour filling up a paddling pool for my son, and my face is horrendous!!!! Surely the sun can’t cause you to react that quickly can it? X

Hi Lisalou19 ,

If it is a photosensitive reaction caused by lupus it can take as little as a 5-10 minutes for some people to develop a rash. It is important to protect yourself from UV exposure. Our article here has lots of information and advice that you may find helpful - lupusuk.org.uk/coping-with-...
