Hi Wendy, I'm new although not diagnosed as yet.
I have a diagnosis of ME, but symptoms suggestive of Lupus and have a Consultant Rheumatologist appointment next Tues.
If I do get a diagnosis I would very much like to meet others in the same situation; are you r meetings always on a Saturday? (Not a day I can easily do unfortunately)
Hello
Lovely to hear from you, PurplePeril.
You would still be very welcome to join us, whatever your current exact diagnosis.
Our next meeting is Saturday 16th June & then Saturday 22nd September. Both of those in the hall in Crundale. We’re hoping for our first Christmas social this year too.
However I do try to meet new members in between, for a coffee and chat or existing members if they want to catch up and talk.
I am hoping to meet someone this Thursday and then someone else next week.
Alongside the support group meetings, I administer a Face Book Group. We’re called Pembrokeshire Lupus Support Group. It’s a closed group and I’m careful who we accept. So if you are on Face Book, look us up. I’ve made contact with 30 people so far, 27 have lupus, 2 pending diagnosis and one is a relative.
Any other questions, let me know. I’d be happy to help.
Best wishes
Wendy
Hi looking forward to the meeting. Hope you are well rested from your travels 😀 or at least able to recover.... ML
Hello. Looking forward to seeing you soon. Catching up on rest and sleep this week. Had a lie in these last two days, as my youngest is away on a residential school trip and I’ve not had to drive her to school. But I’ve missed her terribly. After a lovely week together last week, it’s been strange for me this week. I hope you are OK. Lots of love x
Glad that the holiday went well. Best wishes Kevin
Thanks Kevin.
I have just spoken to a lady from PAVS - Pembrokeshire Advice and Voluntary Service - apparently there are these groups across the UK now. They have various purposes - community connectors, whereby they connect elderly, ill or isolated people back with their community, by linking them with groups or exercise classes, or give them lifts to medical appointments etc. But also they are compiling an "Info Engine" a directory of all community groups in their area, so that Health Services, Social Services and Education Services have one place to go to to discover info and groups in their area. I am going to meet her next week to get our support group listed on her Info Engine. Hopefully this will help spread the word further.
The support is fantastic it really has changed my life, I'm not alone in my fight against lupus any more xxx
