Grrrr. It bad enough to be ill without having to grovel and humiliate oneself like this. Chin up, Tiger. Ask them to empty the cat litter tray and put the hoover round. Failing that, booby trap the front door and put salt in their tea "Oh sorry, it's my neuropathy" X
I got my pip assessment appointment yesterday and I am dreading it , first one for me the whole thing is ridiculous they have been sent numerous letters of evidence yet still treat you as a fraud , if I don't get it I wouldn't be able to afford to drive which would be a nightmare I certainly can't walk everywhere . Good luck with your assessment mine is on Thurs I was hoping my daughter could come with me but shes pregnant and may have to have a C section on Wednesday as the baby is extended breach .
My sympathies. This is my second assessment. I've been thinking back on my first, which was the usual nightmare. I did, however, have a good assessor, who actually read out her report as she was typing. I think I'll request that this time. Then, I just took it as par for thr course, but having heard others getting, quite frankly, a bunch of untruthful stuff, I realise she was being very positive, and giving me a chance to correct or add to what she typed.
Remember, you are talking about how you are on your worst day. No matter how humiliating or upsetting, that is ehat is needed. x
Quick edit to add that I was automatically given a form to claim taxi expenses.
They did this to me too. After getting myself so worked up they awarded me PIP again for a limited time so I have no idea when they will reassess me. A year later I am now being reassessed for esa. Do they not confer over these claims? The worry and the stress has started all over again. The forms take so long to complete too, so hard to think of everything to put on it. Then the thought of the face to face is terrible. I hope you get on ok, just remember to reiterate how you are on a bad day.
I know how you feel I've got pip assessment next week and my esa runs out in August so I will have that to go through that again and no doubt they will stop esa again even though I still have same conditions and am still on the same medication it's ridiculous .
PIP awards never last their time, reviews can happen anytime. Surprised so quick with assessment date, they are so slow with appeals! I have Lupus and volunteer at CAB, specialising in disability benefits and appeals. Do use CAB if you have problems
It very much seems that PIP awards never last their time, as many have shown here. Why don't DWP just make them annual reviews and assessments? Just as stressful, just not as out of the blue. If my PIP continues at the same rate after this, I will have to go through it again in a year anyway.
