I have my Pip assessment tomorrow and I literally feel sick to my stomach. Iv read all the horror stories about how awful it is and how they try to catch you out. I feel terrible that I have to go somewhere and prove my illness :(

Hi

Make sure you take a witness with you, also check out the Benifits and Work website. They do charge, but from my own experience it's well worth the money

One thing I have heard, always try and do anything they ask if you do it and fail, it goes in your favour. If you say "I can't do that " or refuse they mark you down

Hope this makes sense, finding it hard to concentrate this morning

Good luck

Hi. I have just recently had my pip assessment. You can choose to have it at home. I was granted the high rate which was good and surprising but have to go through it again in five years. Don't be worried honey. There are horror stories but good ones too. As much as I don't agree with the whole process the assesses aren't too bad and only human . Tell them how I'll your illness makes you and you will be fine. Don't worry . You will be fine

Hi I had my esa assessment a couple of weeks ago and I too was terrified and got myself in a right state beforehand.

Mine was at the Cambridge assessment centre and I had someone drive me there so I didn't have to worry about parking, and if my car would be ok, all I had to concentrate on was the assessment and I also had my mum come in with me.

I too had read that they try every trick in the book and I was very surprised when I dropped my glasses, that the examiner actually bent down to get them for me. I thought oh god how do get out of this one, so I was shocked when he got them for me, otherwise I don't know what I would have done.....ha ha

But he made me feel at ease and was totally different to how I thought it would be. Just remember to take hospital papers and any other evidence that backs up your illnesses and medication that you are currently taking. And remember when answering to describe your worst day ever to every question. Don't say well sometimes, answer the question as how you feel when your in a great deal of pain and at your worst. As they want to know what you can't do.

Also I had quite a walk from the waiting area to the room we were heading to, if need be walk slow if you need to stop halfway then stop. As you may find the distance may be what they will ask you can you walk. So just take your time. The same when answering questions, just take a breath and think before you start speaking.

I have received my outcome and thank God I'm still in the Support Group. I was so sure I would have to appeal.

Good luck everyone and I hope it all goes ok.

Xxx
