I use to have heavy bleeding caused by fibroids. I was put on meds to reduce the bleeding but found they caused my blood to become sticky, which was dangerous as this can cause clots. One of the possible side effects of that medication was thrombosis. Needless to say i stopped taking it. I had my fibroids removed, which stopped the heavy bleeding.
I cant say what might be causing the pain in your ribcage, however it could be lung related so I would strongly advise you to see your gp ASAP.
Have you discussed your ribcage pain with your GP or rheumatologist?
If in doubt, it is always worth speaking to your doctor about the symptoms you are experiencing as he/she can provide you with the correct advice and treatment. Also, the doctor may refer you to a specialist such as a physiotherapist or pulmonary specialist if required.
