I always had blood in my urine but the last 3 times I had my urine checked by my gp I also had leukocytes cells (white blood cells) but no sign of infection. Plus usually my blood pressure was high but recently has been slighty on the low side.
Does it mean my kidneys are under stress? Should I be concerned? I am seeing my lupus consultant on the 18th May.
Thank you for your replies. Xxx

Well I had both too and have meds for high BP - but had a kidney and bladder ultrasound last week and all was fine. I think it’s interstitial cystitis with me
Hi dear. I would say don't be worried as stress affects our lupus disease... buy I like to kindly suggest to not discard those test results, they could mean something.
Remember lupus causes inflammation in many parts of our bodies, it is important that your GP or specialist finds out what is happening with you. Don't let this pass. It could be part of your disease.
I have lupus SLE and nephritis lupus stage 1, my kidneys leak erythrocytres and leukocytes into the urine and some meds as MTX increase the count. Salty foods make my ankles, feet and fingers swell, I am allowed to drink no more than half a cup of tea/coffee... try to pay attentiom to your body, check your urine color and its volume, is the urine volume similar to your fluids intake? Is it foamy? Tell your Dr all your symptoms and press to be seen by a specialist.
I had one simple test that helped to tell if the blood was coming from the kidneys or the bladder, Urinary erythrocyte morphology. Ask your GP about it. Hope it helps
