Im awaiting a lip biopsy testing for Sjorgen’s. I have all of the symptoms but blood test negative . I had a period of feeling well for about 10-12 days recently and noticed that my dry also improved (unfortunately this didn’t last and I’m feel unwell again and all symptoms have returned ) I suppose I’m curious as to why my dry mouth felt better when I was well - do symptoms ebb & flow or remain constant . I’m also concerned that when I have the lip bisposy if my mouth isn’t dry will this affect the results and therefore test could be negative and I’d be back to square one of the diagnosis monopoly . Any help would be appreciated .

How long have you waited for your appointment ? I also smoke so when I first noticed my mouth was dry I put it down to smoking . Like you I’m continually sipping water but it doesn’t really help . A recent trip to the dentist revealed
Severe gum disease )despite having really looking after my teeth ) this is one of the dangers of dry mouth , he prescribed a high fluoride tooth paste to help stop further gum loss .
Would love to stop smoking but don’t have the will power at the moment .
I just thought I would try and help by letting you know about a range of dental stuff you can get in boots the chemist for dry mouth. They do a spray that I carry around all the time. They also do a mouth wash. They aren't too expensive either and work better than the saivix pastilles I get prescribed.
I was diagnosed with gastritis in January with helicobacter in tummy and thrush in oesophogis. Doc advised that I quit smoking, which I did the next day. Few weeks later I'm diagnosed with Lupus, still not smoking. Eventually at end April I cave and have a smoke and become sick as a dog. Vomiting etc. It wasn't pretty! But I'm stubborn, so 2 days ago I have another smoke, nauseas for 2 days now.
I got so frustrated because I wasn't feeling better despite quitting. The pain eats one alive it seems. Can't be on heavy anti inflammatories either due to tummy issues
I sorry to hear of your struggles . I so want to stop smoking but my excuse is it helps me cope with the constant pain . I say excuse because I know it’s true but still can’t find the will power to stop . Have you tried a stop smoking course or such like to help you kick the habit ?
