It could be odema (build up of water) and you should see a doctor about it asap!

Stop eating all salt. No canned foods, no salt shaker. Everything must be fresh and you can't even put salt in the spaghetti water. If you stop, your edema may go down. Mine did.

I agree, cut the salt and make sure you're drinking enough water. I did when high steroid use blew up my ankles. Also try to elevate your feet when you can. I slept with them elevated and my ankles looked so slender in the morning, though by afternoon they'd start to swell again. I'm good now with less steroid and hardly use salt.
