Sweating during day and at night.

Hi, I’m from Scotland so here it’s freezing at moment with a lot of snow! I was wondering does anyone experience sweating nearer bed time and during the night the past 3/4 days I’ve been experiencing this and it’s quite uncomfortable and I thought it was weird as it’s so cold outside. I recently came down to 3mg of prednisone and I’m on methotrexate.

Hi Oakley_Isaac,

I have Scleroderma but have the same problem, I have to shower twice a day to stop sweating and itching. The cold weather makes it worse, going to bed with a clean body really helps you start from a good baseline.

I’m on mycophenolate and prednisolone.

Hope the weather improves soon in Scotland, the snow has gone down south now.

Hi there. I’m in Scotland too - presently watching snow fall from my bed where I seem to be living just now due to dizziness, vertigo and other stuff.

I have Sjögren’s so don’t normally sweat much at all but sometimes I wake in the night or occasionally in day literally soaked in sweat - last night was like this. I wonder whether it’s just because I’m more sensitive to drops in temperature outside and yesterday was milder or whether it’s just me as I’m all over the place with my blood pressure and thermostat due to autonomic dysfunction. It is horrid waking drenched though so you have my sympathy. I’m well post menopausal so it’s not that at least!

And I’ve recently come off longstanding Mycophenolate and short dose of Prednisolone so it shouldn’t be that either. Guessing autoimmunity.

Hi Oakley, whatever you do, unless you suffer from asthma, keep away from prednisone as this can lead to Avascular Necrosis and can result in agonizing pain and eventually limb replacements.

I had the same experience during the night while I was on methotrexate.

I do but I atteibute it to taking progesterone all the time. When i read about it i was informed that night sweats should never be ignored. I suggest you infirm your primary doc with this information. There are a lot of reasons for this symptom and it ranges from benign to serios reasons. I would check the cause if i was you.
