Hi

I was wondering if anyone knows the cause of sporadic scalp pain and some small lumps on my head which have appeared. Initially I thought it might be a couple of spots but been there for a few weeks now and are sore to the touch. Also experiencing more headaches. I don't mean to jump to the conclusion that everything is lupus related but I just don't know enough about it .

Thanks

is someone hitting you on the head while you're asleep perhaps? x

Lol, with the restless nights I have, I wouldn't be surprised x

is the "sporadic pain" connected to the lumps and/or the headaches or is it a separate thing? x

It's like a tingling pain then I'm made aware of the lump??? Sorry, but that's the best way I can describe it x

I dont know what the answer is, but I would be more suspicious of the medication (which I think you've only started fairly recently, havent you?) than of the underlying condition. DMARDS and steroids both have pretty big effects on inflammatory processes, which could be implicated in headaches and lumps-on-the-bonce (as we specialists call them) . With a bit of luck it could be just a temporary adjustment reaction??? (fingers crossed) But yeah, I dont actually know x

Yeah, along with the hydroxy I started Azathioprine 9 days ago. Will keep a close eye on the "bonce" 😂 x

Thanks avionne. Headaches are manageable with analgesia, but I will mention it to the GP. I was just wondering if other folk had any of these symptoms or if it's completely unrelated

Yes they are. Never experienced it before, that's why I was wondering if it was anyway related

Hi there , few months ago i had scalp pain and raised areas , it was sore to put head on pillow at night . I used black seed oil , just a small amount on scalp at night . The problem has now resolved , I don’t know if it was the oil but it is such a relief as was a problem for several months. I hope this is of help , i had discussed it with my gp who was of no help🌸

I have Sjogrens and discoid lupus. My scalp is tender and sometimes lumpy - I would get a dermatologist to have a look. I don’t want to worry you but I neglected mine and had hair loss through scratching. Definitely the oil suggested sounds good and I am going to try it too. We all feel like hypochondriacs unfortunately but we aren’t! Good luck

Thanks Cas70. I've actually had the hair loss already, took a pic and posted it a couple of weeks ago. I've got an appointment with my GP next week, will definitely be mentioning it to her. Scalp been feeling tight and a painful today

Insist on a Dermatologist- we have to fight for everything I am afraid. Am getting oil on Friday - let us know how you get on!

Btw, just looked online and you can get 100% black seed oil in Morrison's for £5.50

Have read up about black seed oil and although it sounds good, apparently you shouldn't take it with Azathioprine

Hi. I have urticaria vasculitis I get lumps bumps welts come up on various parts of my body. I do get lumps on my scalp too that are very painful. The lumps on my scalp I have always put down to the urticaria that I have had for I've 15 years now. I take methotrexate. have steroids daily and have antihistamine tablets to which this gives relief and clears up.
