Red itchy lumps
Have you noticed if they appear or get worse after time in the sun? I have UCTD not lupus, and fibromyalgia. But I notice I can't spend much time at all in the sun without a similar issue. Even bright sunlight through car windows has the same effect.
The only thing that made mine go was prednisolone 40mg. I now use eucerine in the shower and bath but am almost off the steroids down to 1mg. It's horrible it it itching and scratching. Nighttime is just the pits cos you want to cuddle under the quilt but the heat makes the itch unbearable. Sending hugs xx.
I know how stressful hives can be, I had them for 2 years, got a biopsy done which told me I had urticaria, but nothing else, I started on antihistamines which kept them under control for about a year. I talked to my Rhumy who put me on a new pill a few months before the hives started who insisted it wasn't the med. Plaquenil. Anyhow kidneys were flaring and I needed it under control and went on IV Cyclophospomide and was able to stop all my other meds while doing this (25years ogo) and the hives went away. After my lupus was under control again my Rhumy put me on the Plaquenil again and back came the hives. No one believed me at first but the proof was there. See what you were doing differently when the hives started, did you move into a new home or new skin cream, detergent, or maybe like in my case, the meds. Good luck.
